OUR
MISSION
InterOp.Community, is an emerging collaboration to advance the healthcare interoperability agenda via the use of open platforms and open-source software.
An InterOp Overview
InterOp.Community will serve as a technology incubator to advance global and interoperable health solutions by providing standards driven interfaces for the common components found in modern healthcare systems such as Electronic Health Record (EHR), hospital, Health Information Exchange (HIE), lab, and insurer.
Several organizations have already come together to join forces on this effort and to provide access to this unique environment and continue to build out new functionality. Reach out to see how you can become involved!
Collaboration
The key to engaging the development community is having a sandbox in the virtual environment that allows collaborators to design, test and prototype software in an isolated manner, allowing them to innovate with all the tools of the enterprise environment and none of the overhead. It is the next generation proving ground in the Cloud, complete with tools to help build, launch, and test health apps as well as model real world healthcare scenarios with synthetic data. Interoperability Institute and the unique partnership with InterOp.Community brings together powerful innovative tools.
Interoperability Institute presently supports Meld, a safe, collaborative, simulated healthcare environment available in the AWS Marketplace and is committed to providing a platform for thriving open source communities, as well as commercially friendly open source licensing. Advancing to an open source complement not only to engages and supports the development community, but to convenes stakeholders from across the Health IT (HIT) landscape interested in advancing health interoperability.
Interopion® recognizes the importance of mobilizing and engaging the community in support of an open source sandbox that forms an open source meritocracy with Interoperability Institute based upon established best practices from the community. Interopion brings their unique solutions and services to the InterOp.Community to address this new and emerging technology that enables contextualization and integration of knowledge, content, services, etc., in the clinical workflow.
IHE USA dedication to improving our nation’s healthcare by promoting the adoption and use of IHE and other world-class standards, tools, and services for interoperability, engages all levels of public and private sector participants to test, implement, and use standards-based solutions for all health information needs.
Red Hat®, the largest open source company in the world, believes that using an open development model helps create more stable, secure, and innovative technologies. Red Hat has spent more than two decades collaborating on community projects and protecting open source licenses so that they can continue to develop software that pushes the boundaries of technological ability.
The initial stages of deployment of InterOp.Community are underway. The sandbox is expected to be launched during the second quarter of 2021.
